## ROl

One math concept that I would like to reflect on is Angles and Parallel lines. I learned how to find the angles of lines/shapes and how to use parallel lines to help me solve for unknown angles. This concept wasn't too difficult but it was really fun compared to the other lessons. This lesson helped me a little bit in the later lessons.

Angles and Parallel lines have to do with finding the angles of certain shapes and understanding how they correlate with each other. The work required us to solve for unknown angles and side lengths. In this unit there were four different lessons. For each of the four lessons we had to watch a warm up video, then the instructions, do some example problems, watch a summary of what you just learned, and finally take a quiz. I learned how to solve for unknown angles. I learned this by watching the instructions by and taking really detailed notes on the information. This tells me that I learn from watching something, then by taking notes, and then practicing it.

I demonstrated the SLO’s: Self Directed Learner who communicates effectively and Mastering skills needed in career and college. I demonstrated the first SLO of Self Directed Learner who communicates effectively because the entire math class is online so I didn’t really have an actual math teacher who went over the math concepts with me. I demonstrated the second SLO because the math that I am learning now will be needed to get into colleges and are the building blocks for more advanced math concepts. One SLO that I could have demonstrated better is Representing Self, school and community through personal responsibility and global citizenship. The SLO is pretty difficult to show when you are literally just doing math.

The two most important things that I have learned from this class is to not procrastinate and the other is all the math concepts that we learned. Being able to not procrastinate is a very important skill because the world doesn't wait on you, you need to be doing the work on time or you are going to fall behind. The math that I learned here will help me further on in my education and I might even find some use of it out of school.

## 2nd ROL

The math concept that I am reflecting upon are circles, we learned how to calculate the area of circles, the secant, tangent, and angles of a circle. Among other things about circles. One concept I struggled with was circumference and Arc length, I still don’t really understand it.

During math 2 we had to learn how to calculate the Arc length of circles when knowing the central angle and the radius, and we had to figure out the radius by knowing the circumference, and some other concepts. For each concept we had to watch a warm-up which is basically an introduction, then we watched the instructions which taught us the material and take notes on it. Next we watched a summary of the instruction. After that we did the assignment which is just some questions about the concept to test if we actually learned something, and finally we had to take the quiz on the concept. The quiz was just 10 questions that you can solve with what you learned during the instructions. I learned how to take notes in a manner that was clear and easy to understand. This tells me I learn by taking notes on something and practicing it multiple times.

The two SLO’s that I demonstrated best during math 2 are Mastering skills needed in career and college, and Thinking critically and creatively. I demonstrated the first SLO of Mastering skills needed in career and college because the math we learn in high school are the building blocks to the math we will do in college. I demonstrated the second SLO of Thinking critically and creatively because a lot of the concepts are confusing and hard to understand so to learn it you need to think really hard. The SLO’s that I mentioned earlier are important because getting good at the skills now means I won’t struggle as hard in college. A SLO that I struggled with was Representing self, school and community through personal responsibility and global citizenship. In math 2 it's pretty difficult to show this SLO because what we are doing is just math, there is no real place for this SLO.

The two most important things I learned in this class are how to take notes and time management. These skills are important because taking notes is a good way to learn anything quickly and time management is important because it’s important to not waste time if there is something you need to do.
